Lernu.net! (en)

During the last ten years, lernu.net free courses in Esperanto by a growing number of users, which exceeded 130,000. Those who live far from English clubs can learn the language to communicate freely with other users in forums and share their skills through individual messages and instant messenger. However, these free handouts not occur without cost. We are very grateful to all of our friends volunteer translators and language assistants, who contribute their valuable time to the portal, but the costs to maintain large portal is very high. The team learn! must pay the programmers and designers who create our content, and servers that can hold our ever-growing number of users.
Advertising alone can not hold our portal. We were able to grow and thrive thanks to the high level of sponsorship we receive from Esperantic Studies Foundation (ESF - Foundation for the Study of English). During the previous ten years, the ESF donated more than € 280,000 (approximately U.S. $ 365,000 or U.S. $ 768,000) to support the work of lernu. Without the support of the ESF, learn! could not exist and be operational this community, as you see today.
The staff learn! now working on a complete reconstruction of the portal at the beginning of 2013. The new learn! include new courses and learning materials (http://lernu.net/komunikado/forumo/temo.php?t=12886), a better functioning of the board and instant messenger, and better maintenance of new technologies such as smartphones and tablets, which did not exist when the last change to learn!. These improvements are not cheap, and FHS again willing to fund our work.
For that reason, the team learn! joined his colleagues in Education @ Internet to launch a donation campaign \ "100,000 euros for FHS \". We learn! We are extremely grateful for the level of support we have received from Esperantic Studies Foundation yet, but we are not the only project in which he is established funds. Donations to support FHS education in English (including classroom courses, such as portals and lernu.net edukado.net, and college students with diplomas on the subject English), creating tools for computing in English (such as brokers grammatical and literary archives seekers), and scientific research on English.
Your gift to the FHS is investment in the future of English - to educate the new generation of English and develop technologies that will help current and future English, while they use, spread the language and deepen it.
In December, we will strive to adhere EUR 5000 for the launch of a new course: http://lernu.net/komunikado/forumo/temo.php?t=12886. Have we reached the sum of more than 4000 euros, your donation will help us reach our goal! You can make a single donation page http://lernu.net/pri_lernu/subteno/finance.php for this campaign, or to become a monthly donor FHS: http://esperantic.org/eo/donacoj/rete. Your monthly donations will help immensely to the foundation so that it meets the needs of the project in the future. You can donate through PayPal, bank transfer, by check in the United States and Canada, or a story of the UEA, pay the bill to learn!. Contact teamo@lernu.net for more information on donations with a bank transfer or check. The Foundation for the Study of English is registered as a foundation for help 501 (c) 3 in the United States, all donations made in the United States can be declared in the income tax. Donations from outside the United States are subject to the income tax declaration, depending on local laws, check the laws of your country. The ESF grant receipt, and all donors can decide whether they want their names to be published in the list of donors.
If you use and enjoy our courses, forums and other portals, we hope you will decide to help with donations. The lernu.net could not exist without the support of the ESF, but it also does not exist without you, our community of users.
Thank you for the many years of loyal support and for their dedicated contributions. We wish you all a prosperous new year.
